What car lockout covers
A locked car can leave you separated from what you need, whether your keys are on a seat, in the trunk or missing altogether.
We open locked cars, trucks and SUVs for their owners, including vehicles with push button starts. If you can see the keys inside, the problem is getting access to them. If they are lost, opening the vehicle gives you access to the interior, but it does not give you a way to start or drive it. A spare may solve both problems, or you may need to arrange a replacement. A roadside plan may also offer a way back in.
A car left running presents a different concern: the engine is on, but you cannot reach the controls. We open the vehicle so you can get back inside and take control of it. A locked trunk can also keep belongings out of reach, even when the passenger compartment is accessible. We open it for you when you cannot get to what is stored there. With a push button vehicle, the fob may be inside while you are outside. The start button itself does not give you a way to unlock the vehicle.
Signs you need car lockout
Your car, truck or SUV may be locked with the keys sitting on a seat or in a cup holder.
You can see them, but pulling the exterior handles does not open any door. A key may also be locked in the trunk, leaving you unable to reach it even if you can enter the cabin. If the trunk release does not respond and you have no other accessible key, you may need help getting to the one inside.
A different sign is a missing key: you have checked the places you expected to find it, but you cannot locate it or get into the vehicle. Opening the car gives you access to the interior, but it does not replace a lost key or by itself make the car ready to drive. With a push button vehicle, the engine may be running while the key is inside and the doors are locked. A running engine does not mean you can get back in.
How the work goes
When you call, tell us where the vehicle is parked and give us its make, model and year.
Tell us whether your keys are visible inside, locked in the trunk or missing, and whether the engine is running. If your car has a push button start, mention that too. These details tell us what access you need and whether retrieving what you left inside is possible. If you have a spare or a roadside plan, you may want to check those options as well. Getting into the vehicle will not replace a lost key, so you may still need to arrange a replacement.
At the vehicle, we look it over and explain what opening it involves. You can ask about anything that is unclear before we proceed. Once it is open, we hand any keys found inside back to you. If your belongings are in the rear storage area, we make sure you have access to them. We then check that the doors and trunk lock and latch properly. If something does not work as it should, we point it out and explain what we found, so you know what needs further attention.

Car Lockout by town
We provide car lockout service in selected towns and other covered locations in Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties in Pennsylvania, and in northern New Castle County in Delaware.
The county names describe the broader region, not coverage at every address within it. Your car, truck or SUV may be parked at home, at work, in a parking lot or elsewhere when you need us. For any of those locations, the specific town and parking location matter when checking whether your vehicle is within the area covered by our mobile service.

Car Lockout questions
My keys are visible on the seat, but I cannot get into the car. What should I check?
Check every door and the trunk, then consider whether a spare or your roadside plan gives you another option. If neither gets you back in, tell us that you can see what you need inside. Avoid trying to force an opening yourself.
I lost my keys away from home. Is opening the car enough?
Tell us the vehicle's make, model and year, along with where it is parked. Opening the car gives you access, but it does not replace what you lost. Ask whether a replacement is available for your vehicle so you can decide what to arrange next.
My trunk is locked and the cabin is open, but my bag is inside. What now?
Tell us the cabin is open and what you need to retrieve. Access to the passenger area does not always mean you can reach the cargo space, particularly if a release is unavailable or inaccessible. Avoid forcing the lid or pulling on trim. We can look at the vehicle and explain the available approach before proceeding.
My push button car is running in my garage, and I am locked out. What should I do?
We advise you to leave the garage and get into fresh air. Exhaust can build up in an enclosed space, even if you cannot smell it. Tell us that the vehicle is running and that it is in a garage, so we understand the situation before we address the lockout.
How can I avoid another lockout when I use a push button start system?
Keep a spare in a secure place you can reach without getting into the vehicle. Watch for a low battery message on your remote and replace the battery when needed. Choose a consistent place for your everyday remote before closing the vehicle, and make sure anyone who shares it knows the plan.
